Staravia (Japanese: ムクバード Mukubird) is a dual-blazon Normal/Flying Pokémon introduced in Generation IV.
It evolves from Starly starting at level 14 and evolves into Staraptor starting at level 34.
Biology
Staravia is a grayish-dark-brown, avian Pokémon with black and white markings. Its head and upper trunk are primarily blackness with an "One thousand"-shaped pattern over its white breast. On its forehead is a grayish-chocolate-brown spot, which is smaller on the female. On its face is a white, mask-like marking with a pattern of spikes along the lower edge. Information technology has small, black eyes with white pupils and a long, orangish beak with a blackness tip. On the back of its head is a long tuft of feathers, which curves forward. The lower halves of its wings are black, and it has black tail feathers with a unmarried white plumage in the middle. Its orange, anisodactyl anxiety have black talons.
Staravia lives almost forests and fields, where it hunts for Bug Pokémon. Aware of its ain weakness, it forms flocks of its own kind and cries noisily if left on its own. However, these flocks tin can exist extremely territorial. When two unlike groups see, they will have tearing territorial disputes. A strong Staravia can be identified by the plume it has on its caput.

Ash'due south Starly evolved into a Staravia in A Staravia is Built-in!. In Pursuing a Lofty Goal!, it evolved into a Staraptor during the Squallville PokéRinger competition.
Other
Staravia debuted in Post-obit A Maiden's Voyage!, where it was being examined at Professor Rowan's lab aslope a Starly. It escaped during a fight between a Piplup and a Chimchar, two of Rowan's starter Pokémon, but it afterward returned with Chimchar in tow.
In A Relay in the Sky!, Orson's Staravia competed in the Pokémon Sky Relay alongside its evolutionary relatives.
In the Hoopa'south Surprise Ring Adventures short Flying in the Air, Hoopa summoned multiple Staravia to create air current for Ash and Pikachu, simply their combined Gust was also much for them and sent them blasting off.
Minor appearances
A Staravia appeared in the opening sequence of Zoroark: Master of Illusions.
A Staravia appeared in a flashback or a fantasy in The Forest Champion!.
A Staravia appeared in Battles in the Sky!, under the buying of a Sky Trainer.
In A Full-Forcefulness Boxing Surprise!, iii Staravia fled from Team Flare as they conducted an experiment.
A Trainer's Staravia appeared in Till We Compete Again!.

Pokémon Adventures
In Stunning Staravia & Stinky Skuntank I, Team Galactic Grunts used several Staravia to battle Paka and Uji in Veilstone Urban center and so that they could find their customer, Platinum, and utilize her for a ransom. They were defeated past the combined efforts of Paka, Uji, Diamond, and Pearl. They were side by side seen being used to capture Mesprit at Lake Verity. Origin
Staravia seems to be based on an adult starling. Notwithstanding, its features seem to be based more on an adult northern lapwing.
Name origin
Staravia is a combination of starling and avian (pertaining to birds).
Mukubird is a combination of 椋鳥 mukudori (gray starling) and bird.
