Neku awakens in an alternate Shibuya as an unwilling participant in the mysterious "Reapers' Game." To survive, he partners with a daughter named Shiki.
Starring: Koki Uchiyama, Anna Hachimine, Subaru Kimura
Tetsuya Nomura ("Kingdom Hearts") and Gen Kobayashi did character pattern for the original game and this anime adaptation.

Teenager Neku wakes upwardly in the centre of Shibuya Scramble Crossing. When monsters assault him, a girl comes to his aid and asks him to partner with her.
Later on visiting the 104 shopping edifice, Neku and Shiki head to Spain-zaka on a mission. There, they spot a girl who looks exactly like Shiki.
For their adjacent mission, the 2 pairs of partners caput to a tape shop, where some Dissonance deadfall them. Rhyme takes drastic action to save Beat.
At the first of the second game, Neku partners with a mysterious male child who already seems to know him. The kickoff mission leads them to a brash Reaper.
Neku and Joshua head to Cat Street and enter a café run by Hanekoma. Neku grows frustrated with Joshua's attitude toward the Reapers' Game.
Tracking an energy indicate, Neku and Joshua spy Minamimoto drawing an odd sign. They get to meet with Hanekoma only are attacked en route by some Noise.
Some cryptic mission instructions pb Neku and Joshua to Udagawacho, where they meet a swarm of Noise attacking the Reapers Yashiro and Kariya.
Neku learns that he's the just Thespian in the final game. Without a partner, he's powerless confronting the moving ridge of Noise — until a familiar face appears.
Setting out to relieve Rhyme, Shell and Neku find they can no longer browse the thoughts of the living and discover that everyone is wearing a red pin.
Neku and Beat decide to explore the areas they tin admission with the keypin. They before long notice a mysterious phrase on the minds of all the living people.
As Neku and Crush walk along the Shibuya River toward the Composer's suspected location, they detect Minamimoto and Konishi blocking their path.
After contesting the formidable Kitaniji, Neku and his companions step into a graffiti-lined hallway to finally meet face to face with the Composer.
